1. What is the eCDF training program?

The eCDF training is a blended learning Career Development Facilitator Program taught by National Career Development Association approved eLearning Instructors. The eCDFtraining is for career providers who work in a variety of career development settings and for individuals who are interested in becoming career providers. Upon satisfactory completion of this training program, you will receive a certificate of course completion. Those who satisfactorally complete the training qualify to earn a Global Career Development Facilitator Certificate (GCDF), issued by the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE), an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors and Affiliates (NBCC).

2. Can I get continuing education hours by taking the training?

Individuals who attend this workshop earn continuing education hours under the authority of the Career Planning and Adult Development Network.

3. How do I register?

Workshop Fee: $1950 includes lunch, refreshment breaks, course materials and the certificate. Cancellations received in writing at least ten (10) business days prior to the workshop will be honored, less a $190 administrative fee. 

4. What are the eligibility requirements?

To qualify for the eCDF eLearning training, you need to have access to the Internet and your own email address. eLearning requires you to manage your time independently. Success in this training requires that you be self-directed, self-motivated, and self-confident. It requires that you have the appropriate equipment and computer abilities. 

The credential was established to recognize the training and background of those working in career development fields, and to establish minimum competency areas.
A combination of the following education and experience is required if you decide to apply for the Global Career Development Facilitator Certificate. The CDF training is required for the GCDF Certificate. 
5. What computer equipment is needed?

Read the DVD Technical Manual. You will need to have regular access to the equipment noted in the DVD Technical Manual, or postpone your application for the eCDF training or consider a CDF training in a traditional classroom setting. The DVD works on a PC, but not on a MAC.

6. What are the eCDF career competencies?

  • Labor Market Information and Resources - Understand labor market and occupational information and trends; use current resources
  • Assessment - Comprehend and use (under supervision) both formal and informal career development assessments with emphasis on relating appropriate ones to the population served
  • Working with Diverse Populations - Recognize special needs of various groups and adapting services to meet their needs
  • Ethical and Legal Issues - Follow the CDF code of ethics and know current legislative regulations
  • Career Development Theories and Models
  • Employability Skills - Know job search strategies and placement techniques, especially in working with specific groups
  • Training Clients and Peers - Prepare and develop materials for training programs and presentations
  • Program Management and Implementation - Understand career development programs and assisting in the steps related to their development
  • Promotion and Public Relations - Knowing how to market and promote career development programs with staff and supervisors
  • Technology and Career Development - Comprehend and use career development computer applications
  • Consultation/Supervision - Accept suggestions for performance improvement from consultants or supervisors

7. What is the difference between the e-Learning CDF Certificate of Training and the Global CDF Certificate?

If you complete the eCDF Training Program successfully, you will receive a certificate of completion of training. To learn how to become certified as a Global Career Development by the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE), an affiliate of the National Board for Certified Counselors and Affiliates, view CCE requirements.  GCDFs are required to complete the CDF training and document education and experience.

8. What is the cost of the eCDF training?
